GS Caltex was established in 1967 as the first private oil company in Korea.
Over time, the company has become one of the most important Korean energy companies and is currently the second largest refining company in the country.
In 1988, the first production of its own polypropylene (hereinafter referred to as PP) brand Hi-Prene was started in the city of Yeosu.
Currently, in addition to its own research and development center, there are three other plants for the production of composite PP, the production of long fiber composite and also for the recycling of PP material in Korea.
